I Choose A Better Internet
I believe you have to choose which side you stand on in life.
And it applies no less to the Internet.
When you decide to add content to the Internet, in any form, I think you have to make the decision to make the Internet a better place.
That is:
- Actively contributing to the sum of knowledge available online
- Adding an authentic voice to the millions (billions?) out there
- Adding to the quality of information and content online
I’d never consciously thought about this before or articulated it. But when a client mentioned something today about their distrust of the Internet, it clicked.
We all have to take responsibility for building a better Internet.
And I think it’s important to make it a conscious decision.
Those of us who do take part in building a better Internet will naturally rise to the top. We’ll attract incoming links, people will share what we’ve created. We’ll get better search engine results. And in our own little way, we’ll be advancing understanding and the quality of a digital space which is continually changing our lives.
We choose if it’s for the better or if it’s for the worse.
I choose a better Internet.
